If you know the numbers in your business, you may be good with looking at last month’s figures and assessing whether you did well or not. The next step is learning to use those numbers to predict how the business will fare in the future, or what you could or need to do differently to have a better result. Owners with true financial literacy can use their numbers to make well informed decisions about their future actions in the business.

As part of the 2022 NSW Small Business Month program in partnership with the NSW Government, HIA have developed a webinar series designed to help people understand business figures.

The Leveraging Your Business Figures webinar is presented by Katherine Grace, a business coach with over 20 years’ experience in the building industry, with guest Danielle Ball, a senior bookkeeper and ‘outsourced CFO’ who also co-owns a business in construction.

If you’d like to get a full picture of your business’s financial health and use that information to set future goals and improvements. Once you can utilise numbers in this way, they become a roadmap as well as a scorecard.

During the webinar we will be sharing clear ideas about business financials, along with real life examples and some resources to use immediately in your business including:

  • Overview of Financial Reports and which to use for what
  • What are Ratios and why are they helpful
  • Whether budgets and projections are going to help your business
  • A meaningful way to set monthly sales and profit targets
  • Working out your Breakeven – what it costs you to keep the doors open each day
  • Working out the hourly charge out rate you should aim for
  • How to use the power of compounding to grow profit by 50% or more
  • Q&A session

Register now for Part One of the webinar series!
