Everybody working in residential building will be aware of the incoming government ban on the use of engineered stone products.
Disappointingly (and despite persistent urging from HIA and other industry bodies) the Victorian Government has decided there will be no transition period beyond 1 July 2024: no engineered stone products can be supplied or installed after that date in Victoria.
But where does this leave builders, suppliers and consumers, particularly those who signed contracts specifying engineered stone products prior to the announcement of the ban?
At this virtual trade night, HIA’s policy and contract experts will break down the key issues for you, including what to do if substituting these products changes the price or completion timeframe of your jobs, how you should handle alterations to your contracts, and what you should be communicating with your clients.
Attendees will also get an update on the latest industry data and other regulatory issues affecting builders.
