Apprentices are a key part of the residential building sector’s current workforce, and also the future of our industry. Knowing how to be a good mentor to an apprentice, how to get the most of them and how to give them the best start to their career can be challenging though.

When can you look to take on an apprentice? Where should you be giving them extra support? What are some of the things to be looking out for? How can you give them the best possible chance to successfully complete their apprenticeship?

The HIA Apprentices team have guided thousands of apprentices in a variety of trades through their journey. At our August 2024 virtual trade night, Chris Fortune from HIA Apprentices will discuss the above issues and more, giving you practical advice on how you can help apprentices grow and thrive in your business.

Attendees will also get an update on the latest regulatory and economic matters from HIA’s policy and economics experts.
