Event detail

This one day workshop is a must attend event for anyone in the residential building industry. The event provides attendees the opportunity to receive updates from industry experts across a wide variety of topics.

Attendees will be guided through strategies and receive the latest information on how to best manage both the building and operations of their business in these challenging times for the industry. The workshop will cover a range of presentations including technical, finance, legal, economic, workers compensation and government updates.

Speakers

Edward Nott - HIA Insurance Services

Ed will deliver a discussion on Changes to Home Warranty eligibility and the impact of market conditions on your insurance policies. Recent changes to the way home warranty insurance is managed have the potential to provide benefits to the industry. With the introduction of a new tiering and eligibility assessment system, most builders should experience a much quicker assessment timeframe. Make sure you are aware of what's required, how you will be assessed, and the benefits to your business.

Kaine Tarlinton - Buildcert

Learn about streamlining approvals, what advice certifiers can provide and how to overcome common roadblocks for occupation certificates.  These changes come from the new practice standard enforced in NSW from 1 March 2023 for Class 1a buildings. Builders can expect increased stringency around approvals processes, inspections and evidence of compliance.

Jay Bolton - SEE Business Solutions

Learn how to create a business that enhances your personal life and helps you retire sooner. Through the Trilogy of Finance model, you will discover how you can find financial security knowing that your business is financially sound, you personally have enough to live well and your retirement plan is in place so you can choose to retire comfortably sooner.

Rod Killick – General Manager, Companion Systems

Are you still running your business with paper? This session will help you to understand what parts of your building business can be improved by using software and ditching paper for a digital system. It will cover an overview of infrastructure, hardware and software that is used in all areas of your business. It will include sales, pre-construction, building, maintenance, warranty, and accounts.

All attendees will receive 6 CPD points.
