Revolutionising the future of surfaces, the Wilsonart® THINSCAPE® range offers a sleek, ultra-thin profile without compromising durability. It’s crafted from a hard-wearing material that resists impact, scratches and moisture, making it an ideal choice for a variety of interior applications.
With a 12.7mm profile, THINSCAPE is designed with a silica-free composite construction. This is a safe, lightweight alternative to traditional stone surfaces.
‘The ultra-slim profile creates a sophisticated and cohesive design,’ says Adrian Morris, General Manager of HVG Decorative Building. ‘Being European-inspired and ultra-thin, it works seamlessly in a kitchen, bathroom, laundry or in other high-traffic spaces.’
One of the standout features of THINSCAPE is its non-porous surface, which ensures effortless cleaning and maintenance.
'As there are a range offers designs, it’s a popular choice for many architects and interior designers,’ says Adrian. ‘A popular option is replicating the natural beauty of stone while offering superior durability.’
Apart from being visually stunning, this surface material provides easy installation. THINSCAPE’s lightweight construction simplifies handling, allowing for seamless integration into new builds and renovations.
‘Compared to traditional stone surfaces, these thin composite tops reduce installation time and complexity,’ explains Adrian. ‘This makes it appealing for developers, builders and designers who are seeking a premium surface solution that blends performance with design versatility.’
On 1 July 2024, Australia banned engineered stone containing the harmful element, crystalline silica, due to safety concerns. While this was a concern for our industry, it actually paved the way for a safe, stunning alternative: silica-free composite construction.
The good news – for HIA members, manufacturers and for clients – is that these man-made surface products, such as the THINSCAPE’s range, offer the same level of functionality and elegance as engineered stone. ‘That’s why silica-free composites are the future of surface material,’ says Adrian.
Silica-free surfaces retain the cool, tactile qualities of natural stone while offering design freedom with almost unlimited application possibilities.
‘It can be used for interior surfaces from kitchen countertops to bathroom vanities and splashbacks,’ says Adrian. ‘It doesn’t require sealing because it’s non-porous. That makes it highly resistant to staining. It’s also very hygienic and easy to maintain.’
The Wilsonart THINSCAPE composite tops combine style and durability, as well as ease of maintenance. This makes it the perfect choice for modern interiors.
