McArdle Projects won GreenSmart Renovation / Addition Project for transforming a previously dilapidated 1920s cottage into an all-electric home. The renovation improved the performance of the existing building and is complemented by a modern extension employing passive solar design and thermal mass.
Adelaide Green Homes won GreenSmart Display/Project Home for their 7.1 star energy efficient Hendrie display home. Materials used in the home were carefully selected based on local supply, recycled content and end-of-life recycling. Utilising cross-flow ventilation, it captures prevailing breezes with optimal window placements. Automatic high-set windows let hot air out in summer and lower set windows bring cooler air in.
