“Whether you are planning to renovate or build, a first home buyer, investor or someone looking for inspiration, attending the HIA Building & Renovation Show on 10 September is a must, and it’s free to enter,” said Mr Craig Jennion, HIA Executive Director - Hunter.
“The HIA Building & Renovation Show brings together a sensational group of exhibitors to showcase the latest trends in renovation, building, home improvements and outdoor living,” he said.
All attendees will also have the opportunity to go into the draw for the major prize drawn on the day, to win a $20,000 bathroom renovation package courtesy of Banana Bathrooms.
The event will also feature live product demonstrations and for visitors seeking expert advice, the HIA Ask an Expert area will feature free consultations with leading HIA members including a Kitchen Renovator, Bathroom Renovator, and Building Designer. Visitors simply need to arrive and make an appointment at the Show, but don’t forget to bring your plans, a notepad and your ideas.
Attendees will be able to visit a new feature in the centre, the Hunter Alfresco Living display, to see the latest products and trends designed specifically for outdoor living.
The Show has always been a family-friendly event and this Show will be no different with lots of free children’s entertainment including Ruby the Clown, face painting and special guest appearance by Bob the Builder.
Other features at the Show include seminars and demonstrations by centre exhibitors, all day Colour Consultants compliments of Bristol and pop up lifestyle markets. Mr Jennion said, “with the diversity of exhibitors and experts available, attendees will be able to compare products and services from an enormous range all under the one roof.”
“We hope next Saturday’s Show will attract many families. It will be a family event with something for everyone. All your food and beverage needs will be covered with a barbecue for charity and a fresh coffee van onsite," Mr Jennion said.
“If you’re thinking of starting a project, or are in the middle of one and need advice on how to proceed, the HIA Home Inspirations Centre continues to be the premier destination for Hunter renovators, new home buyers and trade,” Mr Jennion concluded.

Summary: NCC 2025 applies in Tasmania from today, 1 May 2026, (subject to Building Act 2016 transitional provisions) because the Building Amendment Bill 2026 has not yet been finalised. CBOS has advised state variations that will disapply some NCC 2025 changes.
The Housing Industry Association (HIA) has called on the Federal Government to make the Instant Asset Write-Off permanent in this year’s Federal Budget, saying the measure is critical in supporting business investment in tools, technology and people.
The Housing Industry Association has expressed concern following the release of the report by the Committee on the Environment and Planning into the proposed Missing Middle Housing Reforms, warning that adopting the Committee’s recommendations risk delaying reforms that are critical to housing supply.
