Award winners were announced in front of an audience of NSW leading residential builders, designs and manufacturers at the International Convention Centre, Sydney.
The coveted 2024 HIA-CSR NSW Home of the Year award went to JJ Building Co for their build which judges described as having some of the finest craftsmanship they have ever judged. The same home also took out the Custom Built Home of the Year category.
Perched on Avalon Beach's southern headland, Surfside House masterfully blends solidity with transparency. Built from durable materials, the home showcases meticulous craftsmanship, overcoming significant construction challenges including precise stonework and complex angles.
“Without a doubt this is a remarkable example of the exceptional quality and workmanship available in NSW and is a great testament to JJ Building Co,” said HIA NSW Executive Director Mr David Bare.
HIA NSW Kitchen of the Year was taken out by Studio Minosa and Panache Kitchens for the third year in a row and HIA NSW Bathroom of the Year by Birdblack Design and Aspire Constructions.
The HIA NSW Roger Pysden Apprentice of the Year went to Bradley Johnson. "Bradley’s journey is marked by exceptional achievements and a strong commitment to excellence. His outstanding communication skills and work ethic, along with his mentorship of peers and charitable contributions highlight his potential as a future leader in our industry, " said Mr Bare.
Park Hill Designer Homes, Wisdom Homes, Metricon Homes NSW, Aria Homes (NSW) and Vogue Homes all picked up awards in the highly contested display homes categories with McDonald Jones Homes taking out HIA NSW Display Home of the Year.
Eden Brae Homes won the HIA NSW Professional Major Builder award with Better Built Homes taking out HIA NSW Professional Medium Builder/Renovator and Tass Construction Group winning the HIA NSW Professional Small Builder/Renovator award. Eden Brae Homes also took out the HIA NSW Work Health and Safety award.
Made Property Group won HIA NSW Apartment Complex of the Year. The HIA NSW Renovation/Addition Project of the Year was awarded to Lexpol Group and HIA NSW Townhouse / Villa of the Year went to Hammercorp.
“We’re extremely proud of the work being produced by HIA members and congratulate all this year’s winners and finalists for outstanding achievements in workmanship, innovation and design. The winners of major categories can look forward to progressing to HIA’s national awards next year and I wish them every success,” concluded Mr Bare.

Agreement on Draft NCIF Blueprint an important step forward
“The Housing Industry Association (HIA) took part in the National Construction Industry Forum (NCIF) today and it was encouraging that the Forum reached agreement on establishing a draft ‘Blueprint for the Future’ to drive long-term change in the industry,” said HIA Managing director, Jocelyn Martin.
Building Standards are not planning controls

Streamlined planning system to deliver more homes for Tasmanians
“It is pleasing to see that should the Tasmanian Liberal Government be re-elected it is committed to planning reform and streamlining approvals that can deliver tangible and improved planning outcomes to get Tasmanians in homes faster,” said HIA Executive Director Tasmania Stuart Collins.
