The winning home has been designed to blend harmoniously with its surrounding environment and features two distinct interior design aesthetics: one showcases traditional Colonial design, the other features contemporary glass and steel.
Among the home’s many highlights is its open plan kitchen, dining and living area. It boasts a high raked ceiling and massive steel-framed windows that maximise the stunning views. Skylights are used extensively throughout the home to ensure that the entire floorplate enjoys abundant natural light.
“In selecting this project for Western Victoria Home of the Year, HIA’s judges recognised APC Build’s ability to execute successfully on a grand scale, without losing sight of the small details or overall vision,” says HIA Victoria Executive Director Keith Ryan.
In addition to winning overall Home of the Year, APC Build also won Kitchen of the Year and Bathroom of the Year honours for the same home.
Excellent homes from Geelong, Ballarat, the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and wider Western Victoria were recognised on the night.
Hudson Ridge Builders won four awards on the night, including Townhouse of the Year and three custom built home awards. Geelong-based Enso Homes also won four awards, including Project Home of the Year.
Metricon Homes won Display Home of the Year for the Marion 42 in Armstrong Creek, and Renovation/Addition Project of the Year honours went to Coastyle Building Solutions.
Other winners on the night included Ballarat Custom Homes, D’Alo Constructions, Eight Homes, Hamlan Homes, Live Green Homes, Murphy James Builders, Smith & Sons Ballarat and Tremul Constructions.
“The HIA Awards showcase the best of the best in the residential building industry, and the outstanding quality of work being carried out by HIA members,” says Mr Ryan. “Many exceptional homes have been recognised in the 2025 HIA Western Victoria Regional Housing Awards, and HIA congratulates all of the winners and finalists.”
