The 2025 HIA Cairns Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards were presented at a packed gala event at The Pullman Cairns, celebrating excellence in residential construction and design across Far North Queensland. The evening brought together the region’s leading builders, designers, manufacturers, and contractors.
“The winning property is a stunning example of scale, sophistication, attention to detail and exceptional workmanship,” Peter Fry, HIA North Queensland Executive Director commented.

CCW Cabinet Works were awarded both HIA Cairns Kitchen of the Year and HIA Cairns Bathroom of the Year for their work on Pine Ridge Retreat alongside Ash Moseley Homes.
The HIA Cairns Kitchen of the Year, partnered by The Marble & Granite Fitters, showcases modern luxury. A stunning porcelain island bench and matt white soft-close cabinetry exemplifies modern luxury with its balance of natural tones and high-end functionality.
The HIA Cairns Bathroom of the Year, partnered by Century Cranes & Century Training, features a sleek design with natural light, a floating vanity, and panoramic views from a freestanding bath, creating a blend of interior elegance and outdoor serenity.
MyStyle Homes won the HIA Cairns Greensmart Sustainable Home, partnered by Green at Heart, for their MyKinkera Style project. Achieving a 9.3-star energy rating, the home incorporates passive solar design, triple roof insulation and natural ventilation, while meeting specialist disability accommodation standards. The highly functional and sustainable home provides high performance and heartfelt design.
Mr Fry stated that the HIA Awards, which are strongly supported by valued industry partners, are designed to recognise building and design excellence. "The awards showcase the latest innovation, technology, and modern trends in new homes, kitchens and bathrooms," he stated. "We are extremely proud of the exceptional work being produced by HIA members and congratulate all the winners and finalists.”
Major winners from the Cairns Awards now progress to the 2025 HIA North Queensland Housing, Kitchen & Bathroom Awards partnered by The Australian Reinforcing Company to be held in Townsville on 8 November, with the opportunity to then represent the region at the HIA Australian Housing Awards on the Gold Coast in April 2026.
The latest ABS data released today shows that home building approvals in the ACT remain underwhelming, which reaffirms that relief from affordability pressures is still a long way off.
Tasmania’s building and construction sector is showing strong signs of growth, with the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data revealing building approvals have reached their highest level in two years.
“The decline in the cash rate and ongoing population growth is finally flowing through to a rise in building approvals,” stated HIA Senior Economist Tom Devitt.
