The winners of the 2026 HIA Australian Housing Awards, partnered by CSR were unveiled on 18 April before hundreds of industry leaders at the final night of the 2026 HIA National Conference on the Gold Coast.
The winning display home, The Arte, is designed with comfortable, well planned spaces that highlight both craftmanship and innovation. A striking pop up ceiling with highlight windows brings natural light deep into the living areas, creating a spacious and airy environment. The central living zone is anchored by a bespoke kitchen, butler’s pantry and finely detailed custom joinery. Soft cream finishes, gentle lighting, and refined design details come together to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Energy efficient features include thermally broken windows, high performance solar system and rainwater tank which complement the elegant home. The entirety of the project reflects a collaborative approach between architect and builder, resulting in a home that feels cohesive and sophisticated.
The 2026 HIA Australian Display Home is partnered by COLORBOND® steel.
Queensland’s Mactech Constructions won the industry’s highest honour, being named the 2026 HIA Australian Home of the Year. Perched on one of the coast’s most exposed cliff edges, the five-level residence artfully resolves extreme site conditions into a refined vertical home, complete with wellness retreat, rooftop pool and helipad. Precision detailing, acoustic separation and integrated services deliver a robust yet elegantly crafted coastal landmark. The HIA Australian Home of the Year is partnered by CSR.
HIA Managing Director Jocelyn Martin congratulated the 2026 HIA Australian Housing Awards winners and praised their remarkable achievements.

The Housing Industry Association (HIA) welcomes the Commonwealth and Tasmanian Government’s announcement of $165 million agreement to support the delivery of up to 4,000 new homes, including 2,101 exclusively for first home buyers across the state.
HIA submission to Water Efficient Fixtures Victorian Consultation Regulatory Impact statement
HIA does not support Victoria mandating increased water-efficiency standards for fixtures in either new or existing homes, outside of a national process and supply chains. Among first steps to obtain higher benefits are voluntarily measures to address information asymmetries. Strengthening education, promotion, and awareness campaigns through water authorities and government-led media initiatives can encourage voluntary uptake.
