HIA Queensland Executive Director Michael Roberts attended an event this morning to hear the announcement by Queensland Housing Minister, Sam O’Connor, about the Crisafulli Government's initial steps toward reducing red tape for the home building industry.
“The Queensland Housing Minister’s 'Building Reg Reno' announcement today represent small steps toward a business environment that will support building more homes in our state, but there are many more small steps that will need to be taken,” said HIA Executive Director Queensland, Michael Roberts.
“NSW Housing Policy makers seem to be more interested in announcements than deliverables,” said Brad Armitage HIA Executive Director NSW.
“Governments across the country are making announcements aimed at improving housing supply and it is challenging to determine which policies will genuinely improve housing supply from those that are disguising new taxes,” said HIA Senior Economist, Matt King.
