In addition to your written submission, the online application will also ask you to:

  • upload two (2) high resolution images of your staff - photos to be taken in landscape mode (horizontal) NOT portrait mode (vertical). See our photographic requirements page for more details.
  • upload a digital company logo.

The builder must have been licensed for at least one (1) year but no more than ten (10) years, and must be a financial member of HIA at the time of entry until the completion of the awards program.

Judging criteria

Each of the following criteria must be addressed as part of your written submission. Submissions can be uploaded online as word or pdf documents.

Business summary

Please provide a summary of your business including how long you have been operating, your background and why you decided on a career as a builder, number of staff, number of trade contractors working for you, which clients you service and the work you perform.

This answer is not assessed but simply provides a background to your business for the judging panel.

Criteria Points
Provide details of your achievements to date relating to your role as a builder. Achievements can be related to your business or personal achievements, and can be related to academic (training), problem solving/improvements, sales, goals, community, innovation and/or awards.
