With the new year well underway, it is vital to ensure that you are aware of significant dates that are going to impact our industry and your business in 2023. This article provides a guide for builders and businesses in Queensland of industry significant dates.

Key dates for Queensland

31 March 2023
This is the final date that SC1 and SC2 category licencees may submit their annual financial report to the QBCC
1 April 2023
Project Trust Account requirements are implemented for eligible private sector local government, statutory authority, and government owned corporation contracts entered into from 1 April 2023 valued at $3M or more (exclusive of GST)
1 May 2023 NCC changes commence except for livable housing standards, condensation management, and energy efficiency
1 July 2023 Changes to the National Minimum Wage and modern award wages will apply from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2023
1 October 2023 Project Trust Account requirements are implemented for all eligible contracts entered into from 1 October 2023 valued at $1M or more (exclusive of GST)
1 October 2023 Final NCC changes adopted – this will mean full implementation of the Modern Homes Standards
31 December 2023 This is the final date that category 1 to 7 licencees may submit their annual financial report to the QBCC
