This award recognises outstanding client service and excellence in all areas of customer satisfaction by a kitchen and bathroom designer, cabinet maker or manufacturer/installer.

Winner in this category is recognised locally and do not progress to the Australian Housing Awards.

Eligibility:

  1. An employee of a kitchen and bathroom installer or manufacturer/installer in a design department must enter in conjunction with their employer under the financial HIA membership.
  2. For designers, the entrant must be a financial member of HIA under their name/company with the registered ABN matching.
  3. Design teams within larger organisations cannot enter this award independently of their organisation.
  4. Entrants must exclusively install kitchens and/or bathrooms.
  5. Builders can enter the Excellence in Service – Housing category in the Housing Awards.

Judging Criteria and Process

This award will be judged according to the response of an independent survey administered by HIA.

Entrant’s clients will be asked to judge the following:

  • Company participation in the design process
  • Ease of communication and service. (Prior to commencement of project)
  • Professionalism of supervision from project installation to completion
  • Communication throughout the project
  • Quality of workmanship throughout finished product
  • Responsiveness to changes throughout project
  • Did the project completion time meet with your expectations?
  • Quality of service after completion of the project
  • Value of money for the project installed
  • Did the final installed product meet expectations?

A minimum of 25 per cent of the distributed surveys must be returned.

HIA urge entrants to make direct contact with their clients to encourage the return of client surveys.

HIA will advise entrants of:

  • The date of their survey distribution
  • The percentage return rate of client surveys two weeks prior to surveys being due back to HIA.

Notes:

  1. HIA will provide the entrant with their total average score after the announcement of the awards only if requested in writing by the entrant.
  2. HIA will distribute the survey form via email once using the contact details provided in the client list once, followed by one reminder email. Hard copy surveys will not be sent.
  3. HIA cannot advise entrants of their percentage return rate after their initial two week notification. No further correspondence will be entered into.
  4. HIA will not disclose which clients have and have not responded.
  5. HIA cannot alter any lists once the survey process has commenced. Any requested changes prior to the commencement of the survey process must be made in writing (via email) to HIA Events and are subject to approval.

 

Eligible Projects and Customers

  • Any projects that have been completed/installed for the company, employees of the company, contractors or family members should be highlighted in the list and will not be included in the survey process however these projects may be included in the total number of completions per annum.
  • To ensure the entrant and HIA do not breach the Privacy Act, the entrant must provide HIA with full client details. The entrant warrants they are authorised to disclose their client’s details to HIA for the purpose of carrying out this survey.

All of the above information, staff/team photo and an electronic copy of company logo are to be submitted to HIA by the Awards close of entry date.
