About the HIA Charitable Foundation

The HIA Charitable Foundation ABN 37 685 982 657 (HIACF) was established to improve the health and wellbeing of HIA members, their families, and the wider community.

The HIACF is a charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission. The HIACF holds with deductible gift recipient endorsement.

Agreement

By donating, you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions including our refund policy. Please review the following prior to making your donation. We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.

Payment options

HIACF accepts donations made by both individuals and corporations You are able to make a donation online through a secure payment portal. HIACF also accepts payment over the phone, by post or in person.

Donations of $2.00 or more are tax-deductible provided you voluntarily make the donation without receiving, or expecting to receive, any material benefit or advantage in return. 

Use of your donation

The HIACF will use your donation at its discretion for its general purposes and in furtherance of its charitable aims and purposes. 

Receipts

HIACF can only issue tax-deductible receipts to people donating $2.00 or more.

Tax deductible receipts cannot be issued for items like sponsorship, ticket purchases or event entry, donations of goods or services, raffle tickets and auction purchases. 

Refund policy

HIACF thoroughly considers all requests for a refund and will ensure that genuine errors are corrected.  However, we are under no obligation to give refunds and decisions on refunds will be at HIACF’s discretion. If you would like to request a refund, please provide details of how you made the donation, the amount, the date and the circumstances justifying your request.

If a donation is refunded, the associated tax receipt is no longer valid and should be securely destroyed. Please note it is your responsibility to submit correct receipts to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Your privacy and personal information

We may collect your personal information when you make a donation or other payment to the HIACF.

Your personal information, including your name and contact details, will be used to process your donation and provide you with a tax-deductible receipt. If you have made a donation via HIA’s secure online platform, your details will only be used for the purpose of processing your donation. Credit card information is encrypted and is not disclosed to or retained by HIA.

As HIACF must keep a register of all supporters eligible for a tax-deductible receipt, if your personal information is not provided as required, we may be unable to process or account for the donation and provide a tax-deductible receipt.

HIACF won’t share your personal details with any other third party.

These donation Terms and Conditions exist in connection with HIA’s Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
