HIA Charitable Foundation's first charity modular home

In partnership with TR Homes

HIA Charitable Foundation's first charity modular home

In partnership with TR Homes

HIA Charitable Foundation (HIACF) is proud to partner with TR Homes to build our first ever modular home for charity.

“When this home is complete and sold, the proceeds will go directly to supporting the Foundation’s work, helping us fund programs that support the people who build Australia,” HIACF chairman Pino Monaco said. HIACF initiatives include mental health charity Beyond Blue and the Tradie Health Institute - who are undertaking crucial research in the treatment of silicosis.

Western Australia country builder TR Homes is generously donating their resources to the charitable building project alongside a group of local suppliers. “We are extremely grateful to all the businesses and trades that donated their time, skill and products,” Monaco continued.

About the home

TR Homes are has built a bespoke version of their modular design The Donnelly, a stylish and functional granny flat that is move-in ready. Measuring 59 m² it features:

  • raked ceilings above the open-plan living space
  • stone benchtops
  • verandah
  • air-conditioning
  • laundry nook.

This versatile design offers a perfect solution for rural properties, investment portfolios, or accommodating extended family. You can visit a home built in the same design at TR Homes’ Maddington display village.

About modular building

Modular housing uses prefabricated elements manufactured off-site and assembled as part of the home build. Prefabrication is attracting increasing interest for the role it could play in easing Australia’s housing supply challenges. It can expedite the construction process and save money for builders.

Visit our modular/pre-fabricated construction hub to learn more about HIA's advocacy and pre-fabricated construction's role in transforming the residential building industry.
