Bucket hat

Bucket Hat campaign, is aimed at using the physical symbol of a specially labelled Bucket Hat, along with support to encourage conversations & Reaching out.

The HIA Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our members and the residential building industry. A huge part of this commitment is to continue awareness and inspire action. Our latest program, the “Bucket Hat” campaign, is aimed at using the physical symbol of a specially labelled Bucket Hat, along with support material, to encourage conversations and reaching out.

The HIA Charitable Foundation believe every individual deserves to not feel isolated – no matter - Where they live, work and play.

It is often younger team members that are the most vulnerable to stress and mental health issues as they develop their understanding of who they are, form trusted support networks and gain life experiences. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, one in four young people experiences a mental health condition, and suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15 to 24.

As part of this good mental health awareness campaign, HIA members, their staff, and contractors are asked to wear our hats which carry the HIACF logo and the message – mental health starts where we live, work and play. During a staff meeting, on your worksite, or with a friend, we encourage you to start a conversation about mental health, help reduce the stigma, and show your support for good mental health.

Show your support for mental health in the industry by purchasing HIACF Bucket Hats for you and your team.
